Store Charities
Each year we give 10% of our profits away to charity. Our policy is to give all this money to smaller UK charities located around each of our stores. Each store team nominates a particular charity annually and we support them with direct donations, charity fundraising and product donations for raffles etc.
In respect of overseas charities our policy has always been that we can do far more to influence the suppliers we deal with in the welfare of their individual employees. Therefore instead of donating money to overseas charities we have our suppliers ethically audited and work with them to improve the factories for the benefit of their own employees.
This is the list of charities that we will be supporting in 2009/10 and where possible their website if you wish to donate to them directly.
Lowry - Jane - Pendlebury Children's Hospital
As my daughter was in there quite a bit when she was young and they were fantastic, also Rachel's son has been in there and they don't get enough praise for the work they do there. Pendlebury Children's Hospital is a great hospital.

They are a small local spinal charity here in southport giving support to the familys and loved ones of people with spinal injurys there charity number is 1101507 and there address is 8 Hartley Crescent, Southport. The reason I chose a spinal charity is because one of my best friends was involved in a very bad motorbike accident a few months ago and is now paralyzed from the chest down so it really hits home for me.
